Your New Viewpoint is Out Now!

The October 2026 edition of Viewpoint, the community newspaper of the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA), highlights the people, places, and projects shaping life in Sacramento’s Curtis Park neighborhood. This issue celebrates Asha Urban Baths’ 10th anniversary, follows community efforts to improve pedestrian and traffic safety along 24th Street and near Bret Harte Elementary School, and shares a final invitation to Sip, Savor & Support, Sierra 2 Center’s signature fall fundraiser. Readers will also find updates on the search for a new Sierra 2 executive director, planned improvements to the 24th Street Theatre, Musical Mayhem youth productions, and a local primer on a proposed ranked choice voting measure. Additional stories feature Lucky’s Drive-in’s vintage double-decker dining bus, a Curtis Park author publishing her first novel at age 85, neighborhood artists, historic homes, rescued coast redwoods, and a tribute to longtime community advocate Kathy Les. With Learnery classes, Senior Center programs, local music, arts and culture, neighborhood events, and civic news, Viewpoint continues to help Curtis Park neighbors stay informed, engaged, and connected.
