Q: Cancellation & Refund Policy

Student-Initiated Cancellations: ➞ Full Refund (Minus $5 Fee) – Cancel at least 5 business days before the first class. ➞ Last-Minute Cancellations – If you cancel within 5 days of class start, a refund (minus $5 fee) is only available if a waitlisted student fills your spot. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.

If you’d like to enroll a minor under 16, please check with the Program Coordinator first. Some classes may require minors to attend with a paying adult. ➞ Enrollment Confirmation – You’re officially enrolled once payment is received. We do not always send confirmation emails, but if you’d like one, please provide an email address at registration. ➞ Pre-registration & Payment Required – All classes require pre-registration and prepayment. If you can’t attend one session in a multi-class series, we cannot pro-rate course fees. You may pay the full fee and miss a class or wait for the next session.

We’re always looking for passionate instructors and local businesses to lead engaging classes and workshops at Sierra 2 Center. If you have a skill to share, we’d love to hear from you!

Our schedule is limited, but we review all applications and will reach out if your class is a good fit. Complete the form after reading How it Works below to apply, and we’ll be in touch if there’s an opportunity available.

How It Works

Teaching at The Learnery

How It Works

Sierra 2 Center partners with skilled instructors and businesses to offer engaging classes through The Learnery. Here’s what to expect when teaching with us:

➞ Class Planning & Setup – We’ll collaborate with you to determine class details such as schedule, facility use, fees, and participant requirements. Sierra 2 Center handles registration, marketing, and facility setup, so you can focus on teaching.
➞ Instructor Compensation – Instructors receive 50% of class fees (final rates determined with Sierra 2 Center). Payments are issued after the last class session.
➞ Registration & Attendance – All class registration is handled by Sierra 2 Center. Instructors receive an attendance list before class and are responsible for verifying registrations.
➞ Cancellations – Instructors must notify Sierra 2 Center immediately in case of illness or emergency. If a class doesn’t meet the minimum enrollment, it may be canceled, with refunds or credits issued to participants.
➞ Materials & Supplies – Instructors can charge a Materials Fee, collected through Sierra 2 Center. Alternatively, students can bring their own supplies—a detailed list should be provided in advance.
➞ Classroom Space – Most classes take place in Room 7, which includes tables, chairs, counters, a sink, and seating for up to 45. Special room requests can be accommodated as needed.
➞ Marketing & Promotion – Sierra 2 Center promotes classes via flyers, social media, email newsletters, and press releases. Instructors are encouraged to market their own classes and can request flyer copies for distribution.
➞ Business Promotion Policy – Classes cannot be used as a sales pitch for products or services. Instructors may introduce their business only as part of their expertise or provide optional information at the end of class.

Registration Policies

Easily register online, by phone at (916) 452-3005 x 208, or in person at Sierra 2 Center during business hours.

Materials & Supply Fees

Materials & Supply Fees:

➞ Some classes require materials provided by the instructor or Sierra 2 Center.

➞ If a materials fee applies, it must be paid at registration.

➞ If students need to bring their own supplies, a detailed supply list will be provided.

➞ If you don’t receive a supply list or aren’t asked to pay a materials fee, assume no additional supplies are needed.

Program Changes

Sierra 2 Center reserves the right to:

➞ Cancel under-enrolled classes
➞ Change dates, times, or locations as needed
➞ Substitute instructors if necessary

If changes occur, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Sierra 2 Center Cancellations

If we cancel a class, you may:

➞ Transfer to the next session or another class (space permitting)
➞ Receive a full refund or credit

If the new class costs more, you’ll pay the difference. If it costs less, you can request a credit or refund.

Cancellation notifications will be sent via email and phone. If we don’t hear from you within 1 week, a refund check will be mailed to the address on file.
