As a cornerstone of the Sacramento community, we offer gathering spaces, classes, cultural programs, and advocacy efforts that enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike. Our Mission
The Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association (SCNA) is the voice of Curtis Park, committed to preserving its heritage and enhancing quality of life in the neighborhood and beyond. Through SCNA’s stewardship, the Sierra 2 Center for the Arts & Community serves as a hub for arts, education, culture, and local activities. With programs like the Senior Activity Center, we create meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, and growth.
Bringing Neighbors Together in the Heart of Curtis Park
A Gathering Place for the Community
SCNA represents over 2,500 households in historic Curtis Park, just south of downtown Sacramento. The Sierra 2 Center is home to local dance companies, catering firms, religious and social services, and a variety of community organizations. The center also offers rental spaces for weddings, conferences, parties, and stage performances, making it a welcoming place for both neighbors and the broader Sacramento community.

Enriching Opportunities Through The Learnery & Senior Center
Engaging Programs for Lifelong Learning & Community Connection
SCNA proudly offers diverse programs designed to foster learning, creativity, and connection for all ages. The Learnery provides classes and workshops for skill-building, personal growth, and creative exploration, while the Senior Center offers social activities, wellness programs, and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. Whether you’re looking to expand your knowledge, stay active, or connect with neighbors, our programs create meaningful experiences for everyone in the community.
The Learnery
We offer a diverse lineup of classes and activities for all interests and ages. From kung fu and meditation to dance, theatre, technology, and crafts, our calendar is packed with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect. Explore our schedule and join a class today!
Senior Center
The Sierra 2 Senior Center, located in Room 12, is open Monday–Friday and welcomes all free-timers and older adults. Established in November 2000, the center provides opportunities to learn new skills, meet people, and stay engaged in the community. Activities and classes are free or fee-based, as noted.
Protecting & Enhancing the Curtis Park Community
Neighborhood Advocacy & Stewardship
The Neighborhood Concerns Committee (NCC) works on behalf of SCNA to advocate for Curtis Park in areas such as land use, transportation, and development projects before the City of Sacramento and Planning Commission.
NCC collaborates with neighborhood, business, and community organizations to:
➞ Revitalize the Broadway and Franklin commercial corridors
➞ Protect heritage trees
➞ Improve local parks
➞ Preserve the quality of life in Sacramento
