Meet the woman behind Lizzy’s Bakehouse at Holiday Gifts & Goods

Who sparked your love of making?

My mother inspired my love of baking. I grew up in a home that always smelled of fresh-baked bread!

What is your favorite product or piece you’ve made lately?

Most recently I’ve made a German style vollkornbröt from 100% wholegrain spelt that has a wonderfully complex flavor. Also, my pumpkin tea cake has been a hit in my own home and around my customers’ tables.

What inspires you during the holiday season?

I enjoy all the sights and scents of the season. Time with family in front of the fire is my favorite way to spend the holidays. I love to make bread and other baked goods that I envision help to bring people together around a shared table.

What other vendor are you excited to see/shop this season?

I’m excited to visit the Fino Artisan Chocolate booth this year! They’re the only bean-to-bar chocolate handcrafted in Sacramento. Perfect for gifts.

What is your favorite holiday food or recipe and why?

Favorite foods are often linked to cherished memories. I’ve always loved the Bûche de Noël (Yule log) that my mother made for many years. Our family first enjoyed this holiday tradition in Brussels, Belgium, one very special Christmas in my childhood. Scottish shortbread is another holiday favorite for me. I look forward to offering a very special fresh-milled whole grain version of this buttery treat this season.

Join us for a unique spin on craft fairs where you can craft some of your own holiday goodies. Make a commitment to the environment, your wallet, and creative diversity by purchasing handmade gifts from local entrepreneurs this season.

Saturday, December 7th from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. on the South end of the Sierra 2 Center

This event features 2 meeting halls and a patio tent filled with talented, hand-picked vendors selling creative and unique gifts and goods.

In the brand new Craft Tent, choose mom or auntie’s favorite colors to apply to a water-marbled scarf with the Craftopolis Craft Club. Bring shirts to print for your friends and family or make your own card or gift bag using a lino-block print at Tenacious Goods’ booth.

The Holiday Gifts & Goods is an intimate and relaxing way to find unique gifts and personal treasures for you and yours… But all this great shopping and visiting can wear you out! Treat yourself to brewed tea and pastries by The  Novel Tea as well as espresso and coffee beverages from Urbane Coffee.
