Rebuilding Together Sacramento (RTS) services improve the health, safety, efficiency, and curb appeal of homes and neighborhoods in the Sacramento area. Drafty homes can increase health risks and utility use. The Home Energy Conservation Program provides free minor home energy improvements for low-moderate income homeowners in the Sacramento area.
Trained installers improve homes with free energy upgrades to increase comfort and save energy. Services include:
- window and door weather-stripping and caulking,
- replacing lighting with energy efficient CFL or LED light bulbs,
- insulating wall plates,
- installing water saving shower heads.
These minor improvements can reduce greenhouse gasses by up to 1 ton per home annually, and help lower utility use by 10-20% to keep families healthy and happy!
