Curtis Fest Artisan Spotlight: Lizzy’s Bakehouse

Lizzy’s Bakehouse is a community supported bakery located in East Sacramento, California baking slow-fermented, naturally leavened sourdough & yeasted breads in a fire-brick oven, delivered fresh to the consumer.

Lizzy’s Bakehouse bread is sold online in weekly or bi-weekly subscriptions for local pickup and delivery. Bread subscriptions are “Baker’s Choice,” so that the baker can take advantage of seasonal ingredients and locally-grown grains and produce. Though they have a standard repertoire of breads produced, delicious surprises are part of the fun of the subscription.

Their bread is produced in a Sacramento County licensed cottage food industry home kitchen.

Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts.”

― James Beard

The 13th Annual Curtis Fest will feature over 75 local artisans under the beautiful canopy of trees at Curtis Park.  Artists and makers include painters, sculptors, textile artists, and wood workers.  Live music, food trucks, a kids Zone and a pet refreshment station makes this a great way to finish out the summer.

This free event is open to the public and followed by Music in the Park. Come to our free event to support local artists, bring a picnic blanket and chairs to sit on while you watch the musicians or eat your food truck tasties from Kados Asian GrillMasa Giuseria, Portu-goal Street Food or Cowtown Creamery.
