Graphic/web designer Orysia Riesen was bitten by the creative bug at an early age and unable to shake it off as an adult. She paints, draws, writes, bakes, and enjoys expressing her imagination and creativity daily.
The natural world and music are her biggest inspirations. Painting to music, she enjoys simplifying the forms of flowers and plants that she finds in her garden and along the California coast.
Vivid colors and high contrast can be found in her art, utilizing both positive and negative space to compose a completed piece. The fluid colors that run throughout her work are intended to provide the feeling of motion and openness. Many pieces imitate water, a favorite subject and element near and dear to her.
The 13th Annual Curtis Fest will feature over 75 local artisans under the beautiful canopy of trees at Curtis Park. Artists and makers include painters, sculptors, textile artists, and wood workers. Live music, food trucks, a kids Zone and a pet refreshment station makes this a great way to finish out the summer.
This free event is open to the public and followed by Music in the Park. Come to our free event to support local artists, bring a picnic blanket and chairs to sit on while you watch the musicians or eat your food truck tasties from Kados Asian Grill, Masa Giuseria, Portu-goal Street Food or Cowtown Creamery.
A big thanks to our sponsors Steffan Brown Realty, Renewal by Andersen, Capitol Optometry, Grateful Dog, St. Hope Public Schools, AT&T, and Farm Fresh to You for helping to make the fair possible.
