Intro to Drawing: The Magical Mushroom

May 11 at 10:00 am 12:00 pm

Folklore says that mushrooms are the portals to an underground fairy kingdom. Maybe that’s why they can just pop up out of nowhere in the blink of an eye! Magical or just mysterious, this month we’ll be drawing a mushroom fit for a fantasy forest.  Suitable for colored pencil and/or art markers, this delightful image has a storybook quality that combines design with imagination. When completed, the picture can be framed or given as a gift.

Introduction to Drawing is a series of monthly workshops designed for those ages 16 an up. It is ideal for beginners or those wishing to refresh their drawing skills.  This informal, educational class is a great way to develop your artistic confidence and to meet others with similar interests in a welcoming environment. Local artist and teacher, Marie Taylor, is the instructor for Introduction to Drawing.

Students should bring a pencil, eraser, 12” plastic T-square ruler, .01 black Micron pen (or similar) and a set of colored pencils or art markers. Paper and other materials will be supplied by the instructor. (All supplies are available at various prices and can be purchased through Blick, University Art or Amazon.)
