Food Literacy Family Night returns to Bret Harte from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 2 on the blacktop.
More than 150 people attended the fun-filled event last year. It’s expected to be just as popular this year. This year’s evening will include free dinner for the entire family, an exercise class, interactive healthy food demonstrations and a live DJ.
Food Literacy is a nonprofit that inspires kids to eat their veggies through hands-on activities. Once a week, students at Bret Harte learn to cook healthy meals in the after-school program through the Food Literacy organization and its volunteers.
Bret Harte’s Spring Open House will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 30.
Come visit the campus and meet the teachers, staff and Principal Tucker. Find out about the school’s music, garden, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), mindfulness and after-school programs.
