Meet the Meditz family, who moved to Fourth Avenue just over a year ago

Michelle teaches Spanish at Natomas Charter School and her husband Andrew is an attorney for SMUD. They previously lived in a two-bedroom, one-bath home in the Med Center area but decided they needed more space for their young family, which includes children Lukas and Emma and 13-year-old dachshund Jordi.

“Curtis Park was the neighborhood that stood out to us during our home search because of its parks, historic homes and proximity to both school and work,” Michelle says.

Their home on Fourth Avenue was built in 1931 and retains much of its original charm — including art deco sconces in the living room and pink floor tile in the upstairs bath — but also features an updated kitchen and nook.

“We love the shady front lawn and saying hello to neighbors when they walk by in the evenings,” Michelle adds. “Being close to Sierra 2, Hop Gardens and Gunthers is also nice. It reminds us of living in a village with small, local businesses we can walk to.”

A graduate of McGeorge School of Law, Andrew continues to sit on the alumni board there. In addition, both Andrew and Michelle are active in their children’s dual-immersion school, the Language Academy of Sacramento.

Next time you see the Meditz family, say “hola” to this family of Spanish speakers.
