Nils and David started as childhood best friends in the forests of rural Northeastern Vermont. As young adults they each pursued various trades and ventures in Brooklyn, NY until California began calling to them and their desire to be full time carpenters intensified. They each found their way to Northern California, where Sacramento’s culture and economy provided the springboard for their dream.
“Newton Booth Builds was created out of a desire to do what we love and combine art with functionality. From our shop in the Newton Booth neighborhood of Sacramento, California we hand select new, salvaged and reclaimed lumber for our home accessories and furniture. Each piece is handmade, one-of-a-kind, and a specific expression of its maker. We work with local lumber and recycled wood sources to bring you the highest quality, sustainable products.”
The 13th Annual Curtis Fest will feature over 75 local artisans under the beautiful canopy of trees at Curtis Park. Artists and makers include painters, sculptors, textile artists, and wood workers. Live music, food trucks, a kids Zone and a pet refreshment station makes this a great way to finish out the summer.
This free event is open to the public and followed by Music in the Park. Come to our free event to support local artists, bring a picnic blanket and chairs to sit on while you watch the musicians or eat your food truck tasties from Kados Asian Grill, Masa Giuseria, or Cowtown Creamery.
