Class Admission and Confirmation
The Learnery classes are open to participants 16 years of age and older unless the course is specifically designed for children. If you have a minor under 16 who is interested in participating, please ask the program coordinator before enrolling them. We may require minors to be accompanied by paying adults, depending on the age of the child and the instructor’s preferences. At this time, most classes are not intended for children.
You are officially enrolled as soon as we receive payment. Please note that we do not always send written confirmations (unless one is requested and an email address is provided.)
Register easily online, by phone at (916) 452-3005 x 208, or in person at the Sierra 2 Center’s office during business hours.
Pre-registration and prepayment is required for all classes. If you cannot make one class in the series, we cannot pro-rate the course fee for you. Students can either pay the full course fee and miss a date or wait until the class is offered again.
Waitlist
All classes have limited attendance. If the class you wish to register for is full, you can be placed on the waitlist. We will contact you as soon as a seat becomes available.
Program Changes
Sierra 2 Center reserves the right to cancel classes that are under-enrolled, to change dates, times, and locations when necessary, and to substitute instructors. We will contact you with all cancellations and changes to class dates, times, and locations.
Cancellations
Student-Initiated Cancellations: If you cannot attend a course as planned, please notify the office at least five (5) or more business days prior to the start of the first class to receive a full refund, minus a $5 cancellation fee.
If you cancel with less than 5 days notice, you will only receive a refund (minus the $5 cancellation fee) if there is another student on the waiting list to fill the spot. Otherwise, no refund will be given.
Organization-Initiated Cancellations: On occasion, we may have to cancel a class due to low enrollment or other circumstances. In the event that we cancel your class, you may transfer into the next session of or into any other class, space permitting, or you may receive a full credit or refund of the registration and materials fees paid.
If you transfer into a class that is more expensive than the canceled one, you will be responsible for any difference in tuition or other fees. If the new class is less expensive, you may request a credit or refund for the difference.
Students will be notified by email and telephone of the class cancellation. In cases where we do not speak with you directly, we will wait to hear back from you by phone or email as to your refund or transfer preferences. If within 1 week of the cancellation notification, we have not received word from you, we will just refund your registration via a check mailed to your address on file.
Materials
Some classes will require materials to either be supplied by the instructor/Sierra 2 Center or purchased by the student. A material fee paid at the time of registration may be required OR students will be provided with a list of supplies to buy and bring to class. If you do not pay a materials fee or receive a supply list, assume that no additional supplies or materials are required.
