Why do you craft/make? How did you learn?
I’ve been an artist/maker my whole life and have always been creatively driven to make things. As a graphic designer and illustrator, I love that I can visualize something and then make it a tangible thing. I currently work as a full time freelance graphic designer and illustrator and also make greeting cards and paper goods with my own original art and designs. I honed my graphic design skills through the design program at Sacramento State and am basically a self-taught illustrator and artist.
What is your favorite product or piece you’ve made lately?
I love my new notepads. As a compulsive list maker, notepads are functional and practical everyday items. I’m glad to share them with other list makers and help people boost their productivity.
What sorts of things are inspiring you right now? Where do you look for inspiration?
I enjoy strolling the Crocker Art Museum viewing the new exhibits and exploring various art styles. I also take a lot of inspiration from nature and the outdoors since plants and animals are a big part of my work. Gardens, State Parks and the California Coast are all great spots to get inspired.
Are you bringing/selling anything special at the craft fair?
Greeting cards including holiday, birthday, thank you and everyday cards, notepads and recipe cards.
The holidays put me in the mood to….
Snuggle up with my cats and read a big ‘ol stack of books.
