$35 per person (includes materials)
Purchase tickets below. Tickets are non-refundable and only transferable one week prior to class dates.
Learn to carve your own stamp and print it on greeting cards, paper, or fabric! You can choose from holiday designs or bring your own printed design sized to 4×5 inches. Under artist Heather Hogan’s guidance, students will leave the class knowing how to prepare art to transfer to the block, cut basic shapes, ink a plate, stamp test prints, and make final prints on paper or cards for mailing. Students take home the stamps they made to be used again and again. Students can try out and select from soft-cut or linoleum blocks. All skill levels accepted and lovingly appreciated. Good for kids as young as 10 with good fine motor skills.
Join with your friends or take part solo, bring your favorite drink (wine and beer are great, no cocktails please), a glass for sipping, a snack, and enjoy a class in a casual party atmosphere where you’ll end up with one-of-a-kind holiday greeting cards created by you!
Advanced registration required; attendance is limited.
About Heather Hogan:
Heather Hogan layers modern and traditional media into colorfully detailed compositions. Her passion for tools and technology have led her to incorporate laser cut materials, jewelry techniques, stencils, and upcycled assemblage into her mixed media artwork.
Concepts and ideas explored in her work include family, gender roles, grit, travel/exploration, and building connections and communities through art and humor. Her work utilizes her skills in computer-based graphic design and printmaking through layers of high-contrast designs over colorful backgrounds.
Ms. Hogan was on the 21-22 Community Mural Sacramento team and is trained in Arts integration in schools. Her artwork has graced the covers of Inside Magazine, beautified bike trails and electric boxes, and can be seen in solo and group shows throughout Northern California.
As a lifelong artist, trainer, and teacher, having taught at Sacramento City College since 2006, she offers many types of workshops, trainings, and classes.
