Class Supplies: BYO or Pick Up a Kit!
Buy our class supply kit for $5 and pick it up from the Sierra 2 Center ahead of class. Kits can be picked up in the Sierra 2 Center office anytime our office is open (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm — recommended to call ahead as hours may vary due to COVID).
The $5 supply kit includes paper, a pencil, a fine point pen, and a blending stub. You’ll need to source your own Halloween item.
You can also source your own supplies. You’ll need:
- #2 pencil
- fine point black sharpie (or pen)
- a blending stub
- practice sheet – download & print here
- A Halloween item or coloring sheet (see below)
Paper Recommendation: It’s suggested that you use medium-weight art paper, like mixed media paper, or 20lb printer paper cut into 4″X 4″ squares. You can also purchase pre-cut artist tiles from Amazon, Blick or Jerry’s Artarama. Blending stubs help you blend/ smooth out pencil shading and really help create stunning visual effects. You can buy yours at Amazon, Blick or Jerry’s Artarama.
Halloween Item Suggestions: Get creative with how you apply your Halloween-inspired Zentangles. You can…
- Print out a coloring sheet featuring a pumpkin, witch, hat, owl or skull and fill that shape with Zentangles.
- Decorate a craft pumpkin (smooth surface is a must!) purchased from Joanne’s, Michaels, or Amazon
- Apply sharpie to a real pumpkin
- Or, choose another kind of decorative item that can be drawn on (we recommend avoiding fabrics.)
Praise for Lee’s Zoom Classes:
“It was really fun. I couldn’t believe how fast 3 hours flew by. Lee is a great teacher!” – Jane K.
“I enjoyed the class and think the Zoom worked really well.” – Margaret J.
“It was a fun few hours. Very absorbing—especially now with such unpleasant news. Somehow it makes it possible to shut it all out. I even feel refreshed.” – Christine C.
About the Instructor:
Lee Miller is a retired techie living in South Sacramento with her husband and 2 dogs, Zak and Asha. Lee discovered Zentangle in 2013 by accident while searching for ideas on how to draw for an art project and soon became addicted to the art form. While on sabbatical, she decided to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher. Her favorite part of teaching Zentangle is the interaction between the students and watching those that came into the class stating they do not know how to draw become confident.
