The Glass Act Mosaics (GLAM) Collective is a group of Sacramento artists who enjoy getting together to promote the art of mosaics, while supporting and elevating each other’s creativity. They work with glass, tile, jewelry, shells, beads, and more, applied to a variety of objects and surfaces — and magically transform these materials into beautifully hand-crafted works of art.
Newcomers welcome! Skill levels range from beginner to expert, and designs can be simple or elaborate.
Each weekly session is a 3-hour workshop. Basic tools and materials are available on site, or you can bring your own. Steps to complete a mosaics project include cutting, gluing, grouting, and sealing. On average, it takes about three to four sessions from start to finish depending on size and complexity. During each session, GLAM members apply their talent and techniques to create pieces that are beautiful and unique. Studio time is spent working on individual projects, sharing ideas and techniques, and offering support and assistance in a creative and friendly environment. Whether you’re new to mosaics or skilled in the techniques, you’re invited to visit their open studio and join the GLAM Collective.
