Anyone can reap the benefits from practicing yoga; and seniors gain rewards from yoga just as much as younger adults! Some of the benefits for seniors include: osteoporosis prevention; stress reduction; fall prevention with better balance and movement; improved sleep and easing the aches and pains associated with aging.
Chairs, blankets, yoga blocks and bolsters are used to support the body in various yoga positions. Postures are held for three to five minutes to access the fascia, releasing toxins and tension from the body.
