Health Rhythms Drumming
Life begins with a Pulse. From the movement of blood circulating in our bodies to the beating of our hearts, natural rhythms create the symphony of LIFE. This experience of music making offers an opportunity for expression that unites our bodies, minds and spirits through the rhythm of the Drum. We join in the Circle to enJOY, enLIVEn, and Transcend in Rhythm, creating CommUNITY!
Presented by: Laurie N. Martin, a trained Dancing Freedom teacher and HealthRHYTHMS Drum Circle Facilitator, guiding diverse groups in community for health and well-being. Health Rhythms Drumming is an elemental journey through a wave of music, connecting our rhythms with the rhythms of nature with intention to inspire, reduce stress, relax, invigorate. No experience necessary, “you can’t do it wrong.”
Art & Soul
Therapeutic Art, taught by an Art Therapist, can help us heal the split between our body and mind, our inner experiences and outer experiences. It’s an image-based process which is perfect for times when it is hard to put thoughts and feelings into words. Making art with others on a similar journey can provide the much-needed relief and reminder that you are not alone.
Presented by: Lindsay Kay Parkinson is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Board-Certified Art Therapist, and Artist. Her work is dedicated to creating trusted relationships and space for the process of narrating one’s story. Lindsay is a Bay Area Native, and before starting Art & Soul Therapy worked in community-based programs such as psycho-social rehabilitative day treatment, residential, as well as Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) with both teens and adults.
