Engage in simple drawing exercises that will help you discover how to draw the human figure, with Joel Smith, a local artist and longtime art instructor.
The class will cover:
- gesture drawing,
- contour line drawings,
- lay-in drawings and,
- how to render a form.
You will also learn some tips and tricks on how to shade and create simple tones that will create the illusion of three-dimensional form, as well as learn how to identify markers to help you simplify the complex forms of the body into simple shapes.
Learning how to break things down into small pieces will help you make drawings from observation that will look like what you see and help you learn how to better understand how to recreate the world around you.
