Gouache is a fantastically versatile medium. Part watercolor, part acrylic, it is vibrant, easy to work with and can be used transparently and opaquely to build amazing layered paintings. Join Cate the Funmaker in exploring one of her favorite mediums. We will loosen up with some drawing exercises and transfer those into a simple abstract design that we will then work with our paints into a fun and colorful piece.
In the first class, you’ll play with mixing, layering and blending colors, as well as start on a small painting. The second class will give you time to add details and layers to your painting to make a finished piece.
This class will include most materials. Please bring a set of small watercolor brushes, everything else will be provided. In addition to your painting, you will leave with a small palette of gouache paint and a few extra pieces of paper to explore with at your leisure!
Supplies: Please purchase a set of paint brushes for class. All other materials included.
