The Environmental Council of Sacramento will hold its annual awards ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Curtis Hall. The reception is from 5:30–6:30 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The awards celebrate the past year’s regional champions and recognize the community’s sustainability successes. The 2017 award categories and honorees are:
- Environmentalist of the Year: Jennifer Wood of Citizens’ Climate Lobby Sacramento
- Environmentalist of the Year – Habitat: The Water Forum’s Lower American River Salmon and Steelhead Restoration Projects
- Environmentalist of the Year – Innovation: March for Science Sacramento Coalition
- Environmentalist of the Year – Volunteer of the Year: Robert Meagher
