Interested in the "Curtis Park Village" railyard development? Probably
most of you are. The proposed 65 acre development, as most recently described,
contains over 15 acres of commercial development, 244 new single family homes
and 310 multi-family units.
Such a large new development will undoubtedly affect the feel of Curtis Park
and the traffic in our neighborhood. SCNA believes it is vital that neighbors
have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the discussion of this
project.
SCNA will keep you informed and provide you the opportunity to share ideas and
concerns with your neighbors. SCNA has sponsored two community discussions on
the anticipated development and will hold many more as the project moves forward.
We do not know when a formal development proposal will be submitted to the City
(we have been told to expect it soon). After the proposal has been submitted,
scoping meetings for the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be held. Scoping
meetings are the public's opportunity to tell the City and the EIR preparers
what issues we would like to see addressed in the environmental document.
SCNA will organize a public meeting after the application is filed. The meetings
will be publicized in the Viewpoint and announced on the SCNA Website. If you
want to be on an e-mail alert list, please email
the SCNA office.
SCNA is committed to being the voice of the community on the most important
issue confronting Curtis Park in decades.
