Area musicians Nevada Backwards will open this year's Music In The Park free concert series on Sunday, June 25 in Curtis Park. The group blends somewhat unconventional instruments and musical styles (rock and roll, country, bluegrass, hip hop, funk, crazy) to create fun, energetic, and original good time music.

As a new addition to the event, award-winning children's entertainer Francie Dillon will perform on the Children's Stage at 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dillon is a well-known children's entertainer who hails from Curtis Park.

On Sunday, July 30, you can jump, jive, wail and boogie with The Hucklebucks. The recipients of numerous SAMMIE awards for outstanding blues act, The Hucklebucks return to Curtis Park with their trademark blend of jump blues and swing music. Popular area children's performer Mister Cooper will perform on the Children's Stage at 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Those Darn Accordions will close out the series on Sunday, August 27. Just as last year, Those Darn Accordions once again promise to forever rearrange your understanding of the accordion. The six-piece group features four accordions, bass, drums and vocals that produce a super-cool sonic mayhem you'll need to hear to believe. Mister Cooper will provide another fun and entertaining performance on the Children's Stage at 6:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Gather your friends and neighbors, grab a blanket and picnic basket and head down to the north end of Curtis Park for Music In the Park. Entertainment runs from 6:15-9 p.m. on the last Sunday of June, July and August.

Music In The Park is a free music series presented by the SCNA and sponsored by ReMax realtors Melissa, Michael and Meg Heede with additional funding from Target and support from Council Member Lauren Hammond.
